The Cannabis Movement of Saint Lucia along with the Iyanola Council for the Advancement of Rastafari, the Industrial Hemp Initiative, Dr Stephen King, Dr Marcus Day and Dr Gilbertha St Rose, in collaboration with the UWI, will be hosting an important stakeholder “working” session.
The event is scheduled to take place on Monday 25th July at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College open campus of the University of the West Indies conference room, from 9 am to 5 pm. The session is the second in a series that the Cannabis Movement intends to have in order for the country to develop a new drug law policy regarding cannabis.
The Cannabis Movement hosted the first stakeholder conference in November 2013. Emanating from that first session, the Cannabis Movement developed a series of recommendations that will be discussed and ventilated at the stakeholder session on the 25th.
The session will be attended by invited stakeholders only. The intention of this exercise is to give stakeholders the opportunity to engage in open and frank discussion, to air their concerns and to make recommendations of their own.
From these discussions, the Cannabis Movement will develop a policy paper and to then present this paper to our local cannabis commission when formed.
