The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (Saint Lucia) Branch in collaboration with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (UK) Branch will be hosting a Post-Elections Parliamentary Workshop for Parliamentarians.
The Workshop will be facilitated by the following persons:- (1) Lord Richard Oliver Faulkner of Worcester –the Deputy Lord Speaker of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom; (2) Ms. Mary Robinson – Member of Parliament for the constituency of Cheadle from the United Kingdom; (3) Ms. Ann Hodkinson Administrative Liaison Officer of CPA (UK) Branch and (4) Senator Wade Mark former Speaker of the House of Assembly of Trinidad and current Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate of Trinidad.
The Workshop commences on Tuesday, 14th February 2017 with a meeting of NGO’s from Saint Lucia to sensitise our visiting delegation on the current political landscape from non-political groupings. The meeting with NGO’s is scheduled for Tuesday, 14th February from 10:00 am to 12 noon at the Parliament Chamber.
On Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th February, the workshop takes the form of a 2-day training seminar with parliamentarians from both Houses of Parliament commencing at 9:00 am, and aimed at sensitizing Members of Parliament on various aspects relevant to their role and function as Parliamentarians and various aspects of parliamentary practice and procedure.
