A Trinidadian businessman was critically injured when he jumped in front of a gun pointed at his wife during an attempted robbery on Wednesday night.
The 30-year-old man was shot in the upper chest and suffered serious internal injuries. His wife was not hurt. Police said the couple had secured their bar at Monkey Town, Barrackpore, and were standing in the parking lot when a gunman walked up to them around 7.40 p.m. The woman, who asked not to be named, said: “The man jumped over a wall and came up to us. He had a gun and asked my husband what he had.
