Each year, the global community celebrates International Day for Disaster Reduction. The purpose of the day is to recognize the efforts of people and communities around the world to reduce their exposure to disasters.  For the Caribbean region, the need to do is of significant importance as the region has been hit hard in recent years by Mother Nature. On Wednesday a symposium was held with partners including the OECS Commission, CARPHA and CDEMA to help arrest our new reality. Rochelle Gonzales reports.
